Reservations

OUR RESERVATION POLICY

  • We require a 50% down NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT to hold your reservation.
  • If you need to add or subtract equipment, please give us a call within 48 hours of your scheduled river or camping trip to let us know of the changes in your reservation.  This will give us the opportunity to check our equipment inventory to make sure we have the extra equipment which you might desire...we would hate to not have what you need upon your arrival.  If you need to subtract equipment you will still be responsible for at least 50% of your total original reservation.  (i.e.  You reserve 10 tubes.  Make a deposit of $60.00.  You need to subtract 5 tubes...we are even.  If you wish to subtract 6 tubes we will have to charge you for this additional tube, although it is not needed, because we could have rented it out to someone else who wished to spend a lovely day on the river.  This can be avoided with a simple courtesy phone call or email!)
  • If for some reason, you have reserved equipment, and just do not show up to use it...your reservation deposit WILL NOT BE REFUNDED TO YOU...nor will a gift certificate be issued.  Fair is fair!
  • We ACCEPT VISA, MASTERCARD, & AMERICAN EXPRESS.
  • Money Orders Are Fine as well as Travelers Checks.
  • SORRY NO PERSONAL CHECKS!!! (Been taken advantage of too many times!!!)

OUR RIVER TURTLE POLICY

We have become involved with a project instituted by THE NATURE CONSERVANCY to assist in PROTECTING TURTLES on the Rivers in the State of Michigan.

Please DO NOT TOUCH the TURTLES which you will see either in the MUSKEGON RIVER or ON A LOG OR ROCK ABOVE THE RIVER or ON THE BANKS OF THE MUSKEGON RIVER.

Turtles are becoming endangered along the Rivers in North America.  If we  nature loving individuals wish to see TURTLES in a few years something has to be done soon in order to protect them.  Each time a turtle is removed from the river it eliminates one part of a breeding pair which produce hundreds of eggs in its lifetime.  If everyone removed just one small cute little turtle from the river there would soon be none!  We would like to think that OUR GRANDCHILDREN and their GRANDCHILDREN could still experience the thrill of spotting a turtle sunning itself on a warm afternoon.  If we continue to abuse our natural resources soon this will not be possible, and WHAT A WASTE IT WOULD BE.  (According to Lindsey A. Rup, daughter of Owner Sue A. Hosbach, a Biology Major, some varieties of Turtles do not even reach breeding maturity until they are like 8 years old.  If we continue to remove the baby turtles, soon there will only be old turtles in the river who's breeding cycle has aged to the point that the turtles are unable to mate.  A Wood Tortoise does not reach breeding maturity until the age of 15 and due to encroachment from humans on their ecosystem, their average life expenctancy is less than 15 years!  This turtle is one of the most intelligent of all turtles, has been compaired to apes, and has been studied by biologists to measure the stress that humans experience when their natural environment is reduced to overpopulation.)

SO...PLEASE LEAVE TURTLES AND OTHER CREATURES WHERE YOU FIND THEM ----IN THEIR NATURAL HABITAT.
